Salesforce Epicor Kinetic Integration: A Manufacturing Planning Guide

2 min read

Salesforce Epicor Kinetic integration connects commercial activity with the manufacturing and order information held in ERP. The useful starting point is one complete business scenario: a quote prepared with the right customer and part context, an approved order accepted by Kinetic, and operational status returned to the people serving the customer.

Epicor’s integration overview identifies Duet360 OneOffice as a managed Salesforce integration for ERP platforms including Kinetic. Confirm your release, deployment, interfaces and permitted operations during discovery; product availability does not establish the scope of an individual implementation.

Discovery questions

Customers and delivery

How do accounts, sold-to and ship-to records relate?

Parts and configuration

Which identifiers, units and approved configuration details are required?

Companies and sites

Where should the transaction be routed, and who can access it?

Order and fulfillment status

Which milestones can the chosen interfaces return?

Which system calculates commercial values and approves changes?

Separate commercial intent from production commitment

A Salesforce opportunity describes potential demand; an accepted ERP order establishes a different operational state. Decide which event starts the handoff and which checks must succeed first. Do not assume that an opportunity-stage change should automatically release a job, reserve material or commit a delivery date.

Validate the part and configuration relationship

Manufacturers may sell standard, configured or customer-specific products. Define how Salesforce product references and approved configuration details relate to ERP parts and order lines. Confirm the owner of each value and test the relevant units and quantities. Include CPQ only when its role and interfaces are part of the agreed design.

An illustrative Kinetic order workflow

A salesperson prepares a quote for a mapped part, customer and selling company. The agreed workflow checks required commercial and delivery information. After approval, the integration sends an order request through the supported Kinetic interface and returns an acceptance reference or a visible exception. Later status updates give sales useful operational context without making Salesforce a second manufacturing system.

Test incomplete part references, changed quantities, an invalid delivery location and an unavailable ERP service. Verify whether the target accepted a request before retrying. Define amendments and cancellations separately from initial creation where those operations are supported.

Use vendor and customer evidence

Epicor hosts a Duet360 session on the combined value of Salesforce and Kinetic. Endowance’s demonstration and testimonial page also identifies a Kinetic demonstration and a Goodway Technologies customer testimonial. Use these resources to prepare specific questions, then validate the required behavior with your representative data.

Define implementation and support responsibilities

Agree mappings, update cadence, validation, exception ownership and access before launch. Include sales, operations and finance in acceptance testing. Confirm the scope of prebuilt processes and fixed-fee out-of-the-box implementation, along with any additional requirements, licensing and support.

Measure the first workflow

Track re-entry, rejected handoffs, time to ERP acceptance and the effort required to answer customer status questions. Compare against a consistent baseline. Project results depend on the environment, data and process adoption; a demonstration does not establish a guaranteed improvement.
